My first published tale of 2012 greeted the world @ Every Day Fiction this week, and you can read it here if you're so inclined. This was a fun one to write (at the expense of literary science fiction), and thanks to the round of edits, it's much better than the original version I submitted. That's one thing I really like about EDF — whether or not they end up accepting my work, their feedback is always invaluable.
Another cool thing about EDF is that you can rate and leave comments on every publication. So have at it, and don't pull any punches!
As always, thanks for reading.

Congrats, Milo! Way to start 2012. :)
And I agree about the EDF editorial feedback.
Congratulations, Milo! And you know I wouldn't say anything bad.
Congrats, Milo. Left a comment over there last night. I, too, agree on the EDF first-reader feedback being great.
Congratulations, Milo. Very inventive piece. I'm a big fan of the EDF team too. They always offer something worthwhile in their decision letters. Reader comments can get a bit brutal at times, but that's a good way to thicken the skin :-)
One published already! I've only just had the idea for my first story of W1S1...the monthly version.
Madeline: I don't know why I've waited so long to send them something new; I've got to remedy that.
Alex: Thanks, man.
Shane: Thank you, sir!
Steve: Always good to consider the source, but as a rule I find the reader feedback to be helpful.
Martin: I'm on the monthly challege also this year -- "Stone in the Sky" was from 2011's Week#23. You're ahead of me this month; I have no clue yet what I'll be writing/subbing!
I read it. I love your story but I would like to know more. It really seems unfinished to me which is kind of frustrating for a reader.
Hey, Milo,
Happy New Year... Congrats on the great beginning to 2012.
I am not familiar with EDF, so I am looking forward to checking your story and them out.
Your blog is always a great source for writers...
Congratulations! :) Good way to start off the year.
Well done. I like your stuff. And after watching Transformers Dark Of The moon last night, anything is possible!
Michael: Thanks for reading! I guess it could be fleshed out into a longer story, but this scene was more about Lawrence's reaction to the incomprehensible than anything else.
Michael: Thank you sir, and Happy 2012 to you as well!
Eagle: Mos def. =]
Chuck: Thanks, man. And of the Transformer films, that one was pretty good!
I don't like getting reader comments. There, ! I've said it!
Good story, Milo. Great characters.
Lovely little story, Milo: a really strong sense of place.
Deborah + Simon: Thanks for reading!
Deborah: Not even the good ones? =]
Congrats Milo. I will have to return to this when I can give it my full attention.
As for Write1sub1. I may have to choose the monthly one as last year's attempt at weekly sent my stress levels overboard LOL! Having said that so far I have submitted to 4 things this month already. Yay!
Congrats! I'll have to check it out. Thanks for all of the helpful info too!
Madeleine: W1S1 weekly was a real challenge last year, but I made it; even so, I'm going for monthly this year, too. 4 subs already? Way to go!
Dafeenah: You are most welcome.
Congratulations, Milo.
It was a fun read.
Oh, yes. I forgot about the good ones. I love them!
Lydia: Thanks for reading.
Deborah: Me too.
